This weekend marks one of several fall work events to be held in your local section of the Park. Non-native vines, shrubs and other plants have been moving into the Park quickly in the last few years. With the approval and support of the Parks Department, RIP, part of Friends of Sligo Creek, is offering a program in which local residents can help in managing the invasive plants. In most sections we will work on shrub removal, followed by vines. When ten or more people spend two hours in the Park, an impressive amount of work is accomplished! Bring Friends; Meet Your Neighbors; Get Exercise; Help the Park; Your Help is Needed! Bring gloves and clippers if you like, or we will provide them. Wear full sleeves and pant legs, and sturdy shoes for protection. Before an event, please visit the home page, www.fosc.org for unexpected last-minute changes. Events are planned for each weekend except the last one of the month.
