Sligo Creek is in many of our back yards but Northwest Branch is very close to many of us also- just minutes away and is truly one of the most beautiful places to hike in the county. It covers the largest watershed area of any county stream but faces many of the same development pressures now that Sligo Creek has faced needing help to keep it the gem it still is. To that end a new citizen's group has formed to provide stewardshop for it. NW Branch meets with Sligo Creek before heading to the Anacostia and Northwood High School straddles the NW Branch and Sligo Creek watersheds.
